Fruit planting material
In addition to research work, Fruit Research Institute is produces fruit planting material as an additional activity.
We are producers of standard and certified propagating and planting material, both for the purpose of our own nursery and research,
as well as commercial use for other nurseries and fruit growers.
Our primary goal is the production of nuclear,
pre-basic and basic material of temperate fruit species (mainly cultivars developed at the Institute) as a basis for building mother
plantations for the production of certified material.
In the past period, we created pre-basic planting material of 25 plum cultivars, 2 raspberries, 1 blackberry and 8 blueberry cultivars.
Currently, several varieties of sour cherry, apple, pear, quince and other fruit tree species are in the certification process.
Each year, the Institute produces and sells up to 100,000 units of planting material of different fruit species and cultivars.
The plants are produced under anti-hail nets, without the use of herbicides and with the application of modern technological solutions and meet the strict requirements of the domestic and foreign markets.
The economically most important plum varieties dominate in terms of produced quantities.
The planting material of the Fruit Research Institute can be purchased only at the sales point in Čačak, at Kralja Petra I Street No. 9. (Look at the Map) or ordered over Web shop (Serbia only).
